MODERNIZE

Fifty years ago, we sang, “Give me the Old Time Religion.” Change was in the works. The majority of us did not take change serious. Some leaders attempted change on a larger scale but soon learned that the people were not ready for it. There was no script to guide the people. The first act was to modernize the history and the text that would justify change. With regard to the nation, the history of the founders had to be secularized and the Constitution turned into a living document. This revised interpretation of the nation’s Manifesto has become the sole authority over everyone. It has become more powerful than a theocracy, a monarchy or a dictatorship. It is tragic that it has also become a tool to reform this nation into that it was never intended.

Modernization is as ancient as the hills. There is nothing new under the sun, other than new faces that refurbish old unproductive ideas sustained by might. What we are facing in this country is the resurgence of absolute central power. The founders of this nation tried to escape from absolute political and religious authorities. Their hope was that documents like The Declaration of Independence and The Constitution would prevent the usurping of power by one group over another. Absolute power rested with The Creator, who was no respecter of persons. Our modernizing reformers were and are basically atheists and liberals. They have assigned new meaning to history, religious intervention and Biblical influence. Even the Constitution that was to guard us has become a progressive or living instrument. It necessitates interpretation before it can be used in jurisprudence. The Constitution’s modernized applicability could no longer allow obsolete Biblical Laws and a Jesus’ morality guide us. We could comply with progressive modernization or retreat behind sanctuary walls and that is where the followers of Jesus reside comfortably.

While the wrestling over power was going on, a new ingredient was added to the struggle. Attempts to socialize this nation in the past failed because of the disregard of Christianity. In the last fifty years, the modernizers forced Christians out of politics. What they did not realize was that there was an attempt underway for another religious system to give credence to reforming America. The person to lead in this tremendous redoing of a Christian nation was well prepared by Islam. Obama positioned himself so that any opposition turns us into racists or bigots. Atheists, liberals and all the other socializing politicians cannot disclose their tragic error. They do not dare to complain because they have brought this on themselves. In a way, America is due for a lesson on how to treat the Hebrew Christian moral followers. It appears that Islam shall be the hand of God to drive home His point (Jeremiah 25:9). This too is not new. God used the Babylonians to correct the Jews 25 centuries ago (Jeremiah 25:9).

There is a cry by some, “Turn Back America!” Americans as a whole are too proud to admit their mistakes. They are at a point when they are prepared to suffer. They are also misinformed about being subject to an absolute power. The teaching of Jesus did not and does not force people into His kingdom. No one was and is being coerced to live by his moral code (Revelation 22:11). Jesus, Himself, cannot change or be modernized and He had not come to alter any laws (John 8:58; Hebrews 13:8; Matthew 5:17-20). A Muslim can be anything and anyone as long as he fulfills the purpose of Islam. No one fits that role better than our President. And if he can deliver a modernized Islam to America, then there might be a chance of a golden decade for some?
