Northwest of Eden #19 The Desert Kingdom

The book of Revelation appears shrouded in mysteries that come alive in current events. It becomes a window into what causes shall affect human destiny. The following prediction slumbered seven hundred years after Christ before it became the most serious threat to Christianity. The Risen Christ handed to John this intriguing disclosure, “When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the desert, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach. Then from his mouth the serpent spewed like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent. But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring — those who obey God’s commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea” (Revelation 12:13-13:1).
In the eyes of history, the above heavenly message substantiates the events regarding the birth, the hardships and the growth of Christianity. The forecast has been fulfilling itself with amazing accuracy. The prediction was made some seven hundred years before the earth or the world began to swallow up the followers of Jesus or the offspring of the woman. The woman and her child point to Mary and her son Jesus.  In time, Mary became recognized as the mother of the followers of Jesus. In Catholic theology, she became the mediatress between her Son and His followers. Up to the time of the Roman emperor Constantine, Mary’s offspring grew in spite of the earth’s attempt to eradicate them. This period marks the first time. Then with Constantine, most of her children were swallowed up by the world. In fact they took over the world and became a secular power with a self-endorsement of Mary’s Son, the Christ. This stretch in history lasted two times. Those children that did not comply with the world church were coerced to conform or die. Before they died, they had spread enough seed to bring about the reformation. The reformers also ended up subjecting their followers to their dogmas and caused those with different conviction to move to a land similar to Eden. Thus, Mary’s children ended up in North America, where for half a time they have prospered and like her earlier children they were swallowed up by the free and the brave in a land that has become a desert. The handful that has not been swallowed up are those that have held on God’s commandments and their loyalty to Jesus.
The second imagery is “An enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads. His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment he was born. She gave birth to a son, a male child, who would rule the nations with an iron scepter. And her child was snatched up to God and his throne. The woman fled into the desert to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days” (Revelation 12:3-6). The dragon is identified as the ancient serpent, the devil, and Satan that was cast out of heaven and leads the world astray. He is on a time clock within which he does his devastation of the religious and the secular people in the world (Revelation 12:7-12). Satan is the one that offered the kingdoms of the world to Jesus and he failed (Luke 4:5-8). One third of the world’s intellectuals and their people will end up hanging on to his tail, but not the true followers of Jesus the Lamb of God, whom Satan cannot defeat (Revelation 12:4, 10-12). Satan is the prince of the world (John 13:30). He shall commission two brutal and heartless emissaries called beasts and these shall have ten equally brutal nations to subdue the world to the Antichrist’s (Satan’s) demands (Revelation 13). To the ancients, Satan was known as Abaddon and Apollyon the destroyer, leader of an army that behaved like locusts (Revelation 9:7-11). Being able to appear as an angel of light (II Corinthians 11:14), Satan shall trick the world into believing that he has democratic and human interests at heart. This happens to be the second time that Satan has managed to organize a world system without being religious. Revelation calls it Babylon, a government of many nations that is particularly interested in assisting oppressed people into becoming self-governing democracies. Under the Babylon umbrella, Satan’s major objective shall be accomplished by assisting ten nations to become strong enough to assist him in destroying his enemies both religious and secular. These ten nations shall turn on Babylon and on all the western nations and destroy them. These nations shall swear their allegiance to Antichrist’s general. The world shall regard him as fictitious. The number 666 is actually the year a great world leader was born (Revelation 14:6-18:24). The followers of that person shall trample on Jesus’ followers. Satan’s last frontier is the land North of Eden or North America. The takeover shall begin when the land has fully rejected the genuine Christ and become a religious desert.
The third image is a woman with two eagle wings flying to safety in a desert. The wings were ships that the unwanted followers of Jesus sailed with to North Eden, a new place like Paradise. Under the safekeeping of the new nation’s Constitution all followers of Jesus flourished and prospered. The nation too prospered because it followed the Judeo-Christian judicial system. The citizens of Paradise were too content and did not take serious that the tempter was testing their appetite with a poisoned morality. Like Adam, they allowed their children to fight each other and splinter into factions. They elected leaders and judges that evicted the Judeo-Christian God and His morals from the land. The people let an anti-Christian government deprive them of the blessings of Christ by confining Christians to their sanctuaries. The Biblical principles that united different religious persuasions to establish the U.S.A. have been outlawed and replaced with laws that have caused to turn a spiritual nation into a moral desert. Disobedience to God’s Commandments has produced thorns and thistles or sin and death. God has not abandoned this country or any other, rather man has abandoned God. Atheists suffer from the illusion that they have demythologized God and the Christian Christ. How can one separate breath from life or air or wind from spirit, the energy that has created and sustained the universe? What happens to our breath when it leaves our body? It is indestructible; it is the eternal soul in a rational being; it is the image of God in man. The moment we deny God’s right to live in us, we become corpses in a desert. It is a person that no longer belongs to God, but to the devil. The evidence of evil being on the rampage is overwhelming. The Christian God is not disciplining or punishing the land of promise. The people, by allowing evil to rule them cause their own problems and the destroyer proves it by inflicting dissolution, desolation and devastation. Earthquakes, floods, and storms on land and sea are Satan’s trademarks and so are the killings by groups and individuals. God is a heavenly Father that does not force His ways on man and His blessings are available to both saint and sinner (James 1:17; Matthew 5:45). Until the Judgment Day, man has nothing to fear from God, but then man will give an account of what he has done (Romans 2:1-16).
Isaiah the prophet, seven hundred years before Christ had this vision: “The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the Lord, the splendor of our God” (Isaiah 35:1-2). The prophet Ezekiel was sent to Israel to tell them that God was willing to revive the dead bones and infuse them with new life (Ezekiel 37:1-14). Jesus brought that promise of a new life with God closer. He declared, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26). North America had two great religious awakenings and a century (the twentieth) of great evangelists; yet, the twenty first century has sixty-one percent of the population regard Christianity as insignificant and Judeo-Christian teaching as an obstacle. Jesus’ prediction has become a vivid reality in a land that once was filled with His glory. “Will the Son of Man, when He returns, find faith on earth?” (Luke 18:8). Isaiah believed that man could cause to change things, provided he did the following, “Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, ‘Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you’” (Isaiah 35:3-4). God did come in Jesus (Immanuel) and Israel rejected Him and so has America. In fact, our hands have become feebler ad our knees weaker by depending on an American god to sustain us. It is the god of socialism that reaps but does not sow. Desert dwellers need others to feed them.
